Firstly, we appeal to a show’s team not to write them. Shill reviews ultimately hurt the show, especially if audiences see a huge gap between what the shill reviewer is saying and the reality of the experience. Once that gap is reported, it’s hard to recover.
We also include a “report abuse” function on every review so that the community can help us moderate reviews published on the site.
Additionally, we use technology, since other community-driven review sites have addressed the same concerns.
If a shilling campaign is suspected by our team, we may suppress suspected shill reviews and require sufficient proof from users that their reviews comply with our community agreements. This measure is only used in exceptional circumstances and is enforced at Show-Score’s discretion.
